We started our lessons on Moon Festival since last Friday, that day we went to the planetarium for outing. Instead of telling story about the moon goddess, it introduces the phases of the moon and that gave me an idea to plan the lessons for the Moon Festival week.
We focused on the phases of the moon and followed by an activity to let children demostrate the cycle of moon phases by tasting some cookies. Not with doubt, they had a really great time for having cookies in the class. Continuing with the topic, I let each of them chose their favorite phase of the moon and colored it in with rainbow crayons (I planned to do marble painting but unfortunately can't find marbles in convenient stores). Then we used those moons they colored and made them a big book.
The pictures with the star name tag were done by the children and the rest were filled in by me.
Happy Moon Festival!
